Ivan Rittenberg has dedicated his life to public service. He was a member of the Chicago Police Department from 1964-1995, serving for many years as a Captain, and achieving the rank of Assistant Deputy Superintendent. Ivan was appointed a Reserve Commissioned Officer in the US Army in 1968. He was also elected Alderman of the 40th ward from 1979-1983.
Since 1972, Ivan has also represented the working men and women of Illinois as a private attorney. Ivan is respected by defense attorneys and insurance companies as a tireless champion for injured workers. His writings on workers compensation law have been published and his work presented at seminars.
Over these last 40+ years, Ivan has won countless workers compensation claims for his clients. His tenacity and dedication have been the basis for numerous successful appeals, and his work has caused the Appellate Courts to issue rulings that have changed Workers Compensation law for the better.
Ivan has served as a member of the Supreme Court’s Committee on Character and Fitness. He is rated AV-Preeminent by Martindale Hubble – a testament to the fact that his peers rank him at the highest level of professional excellence.
